About this event

If your school is considering or has already moved to a block schedule and you are searching for practical strategies and activities to make the most effective use of extended class periods, this is a seminar you won't want to miss! Join us for a highly practical and engaging one-day seminar with Janet Crews, an experienced secondary educator with decades of experience teaching in and supporting teachers in a block schedule. Over the course of the day, Janet will share her best strategies and practices for making the most of extended class periods and dozens of her best classroom-tested tips and tools for maximizing success in your block schedule classes. Janet will present the key elements of designing and delivering an effective block schedule program. Throughout the day, you'll receive innovative ideas and practical techniques that can be incorporated into various disciplines.

You'll leave this informative seminar with a wealth of practical, innovative ideas, increased confidence in your block format teaching abilities, and a valuable digital resource handbook filled with practical, ready-to-use materials and activities.

Do you ever feel like there just isn't enough time to teach deeply? It seems you're just getting started when the bell rings. Having spent decades teaching in both a traditional and a block schedule format, I learned to genuinely appreciate the opportunity to extend my lessons beyond the traditional 50 minutes, truly paving the way for improved student engagement, deeper learning, and maximized success. My extensive experience in my own classroom, and as a coach with secondary teachers in every content area, has equipped me with a wealth of innovative, practical strategies and ideas, and engaging block schedule methods and activities for putting it all into practice with ease. These tools will help you actively engage your students in creative, collaborative, and meaningful learning experiences tailored to teaching in a block schedule format.

The block schedule format offers tremendous benefits, opening the door to remarkable teaching and learning opportunities. The offerings in this seminar are designed to boost classroom participation, nurture essential communication and problem-solving skills, foster creativity, maximize learning potential, and heighten engagement within extended class periods, all while creating a dynamic, positive classroom community. In this one-day seminar, we will explore the most effective instructional methods you can easily implement into your block schedule classes to maximize your students' success. Your active involvement will provide you with the tools needed to immediately apply these strategies in your own extended period classroom.

If you are a coach or someone who supports teachers, you will find this seminar equally beneficial! Because the strategies are universal, you can bring them back to whatever team you work with and feel confident that you are providing valuable resources to better engage students in their learning.

I extend an invitation to join me for this valuable experience that promises to inspire and motivate you to return to your extended period classroom with renewed enthusiasm and excitement. I eagerly anticipate our day together and the opportunity to share strategies that will rekindle your passion for teaching.

P.S. You will leave with classroom-tested, practical resources and strategies you can immediately implement into your block classes!
