About this event

If you are looking for ways to strengthen instruction for your gifted students and advanced learners, this outstanding seminar is designed for you. Michelle Swain will provide you with dozens of strategies and techniques to help your gifted and advanced learners reach the high standards you have set for them. The emphasis will be on improving your students' critical thinking and problem-solving skills across the curriculum.

Michelle will share the current best strategies for gifted students and advanced learners. She will provide you with highly practical ideas, activities and methods proven effective with gifted students. These innovative ideas are ready for immediate use in your own classroom or program. All educators serving Grades 1-8, whether in general education classrooms or in specialized programs, will benefit from this seminar.

As educators who work with gifted and advanced learners, we are constantly seeking meaningful ways to engage and stimulate our students in ways that help them develop their potential as learners and leaders. We cannot be content with just teaching facts within subject areas. We must find ways to challenge our gifted and highly capable students to struggle with important issues and grapple with difficult problems in an accepting and intellectually stimulating environment. We must set high standards for gifted learners and then provide them with the support they need to reach those standards.

One of my goals as an educator is to encourage students to become lifelong learners who question what they encounter and seek out truth and knowledge. With this in mind, the activities in this seminar are structured to promote independent thinking, decision making, teamwork, and a strong sense of self-worth. There are many ways to support these students; we must constantly search for and employ the best ideas and add them to our toolbox. During this seminar, I will present a wide variety of practical strategies, methods, and tools to use with your gifted students and advanced learners.

Please join me for an energizing day full of ideas that can be used in your classroom immediately. I look forward to meeting you in the seminar and sharing with you the best strategies and techniques I have discovered.
