In this seminar, outstanding literacy specialist and national presenter Annemarie Johnson will share not just HOW students best learn to read but WHAT you can specifically do to ensure their success as readers. As teachers of reading, we know the students who walk through the doors of our classrooms each year will have vastly different literacy experiences and abilities. We know that to ensure the literacy success of all our students, it is critically important to assess their needs and strengths and provide the right kinds of classroom instruction and intervention. The Science of Reading (SOR) research provides us with the information we need to support all students – those who struggle with literacy skills and those who are on or above level.
