About this event

Do you find that much of the information on literacy development is focused on elementary school students? Are you looking for the best ways to implement the Science of Reading (SOR) to help your struggling middle and high school readers? This NEW seminar by Glynis Shulters will remove all the guesswork. Gain assessment tools to help you pinpoint the specific reading strengths and needs of your students so you can stop playing whack-a-mole with strategies and get right to the heart of what each student needs.

Learn not just what the SOR is, but HOW to practically put the research into daily practice with students in grades 6-12. Explore highly intentional activities to meet the unique needs of your struggling readers. Discover Glynis' favorite technology tools that help students access grade-level text in core subjects while they improve their reading skills.

Join Glynis for a day filled with practical SOR strategies. Leave with innovative tools and techniques you can implement immediately to support the success of your struggling adolescent readers.

Teaching struggling middle and high school readers comes with unique challenges and obstacles. Struggling adolescent readers often have self-esteem and motivation challenges that need to be addressed. They need foundational reading skill instruction – but delivered in age-appropriate ways – along with authentic opportunities to learn and practice key skills. Appropriate scaffolds, accommodations, and tech tools can also greatly support their access to grade-level reading content. The good news is I can help!

In our day together, we'll explore how to use the Science of Reading as our foundation, paired with age-appropriate, highly practical strategies to best support the unique needs of our struggling adolescent readers. Discover authentic word study, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension development tools. Gain activities for building student motivation, and resources and ideas for supporting greater access to grade-level reading content. Leave with the knowledge and tools needed to transform your struggling students' reading experiences, starting TOMORROW.

Please join me for an inspiring day filled with a multitude of practical, easy-to-implement ideas and resources aligned to the Science of Reading. No matter how long you've been teaching, my goal is that you walk away with new ideas you can use right away.

I look forward to meeting you at the seminar!

P.S. You'll leave with my extensive digital resource handbook, filled with go-to resources and strategies to help you target and significantly increase the achievement of your grades 6-12 struggling readers.
