About this event

Do you sometimes feel that you are spending more time reading and grading your students' products than they did creating them? This NEW seminar presented by outstanding social studies teacher Glenn Wiebe is an exciting opportunity for Grades 6-12 history/social studies teachers to explore strategies, tools, and resources designed specifically for increasing your teaching time and decreasing time spent grading. Explore outstanding ways to make the most of every lesson! You will learn how to create learning experiences that strengthen students' critical thinking, creativity, and engagement.

This seminar is designed to provide you with practical, actionable strategies and skills you can implement immediately to enhance your existing social studies curriculum, making it more interactive and impactful for your students. This seminar will also include the latest developments in Artificial Intelligence tools and how to integrate them into your social studies classroom. Join Glenn for a highly practical day filled with ways to make the best of every social studies lesson! Glenn's strategies make the best use of AI, edtech tools, game-based learning, and Google Workspace to strengthen your students' social studies learning, streamline grading and assessments, enhance your instruction, and improve your own productivity.

Join Glenn for a day filled with dozens of practical and doable strategies that will lead to powerful results!

The traditional social studies lessons and strategies that we've used for years need to be rethought. Our students are entering a vastly different political, social, and economic environment than even ten years ago. They are asking for and require a different set of skills to be successful in their local and global communities. But we're not always sure what that can look like.

It wasn't long ago that many of us believed that tools such as Wikipedia, video games, and Google Search would ruin social studies instruction. They are now some of the most useful items in our teaching toolbelt. From timesaving grading strategies to making the most of the latest AI tools, I'm excited to share the latest classroom-tested strategies, tools, and resources you can use to increase student engagement, creativity, and historical thinking, while increasing your own productivity.

I designed this seminar expressly with the needs of both you and your students in mind. This is not a sit-and-get day – you'll be evaluating strategies, gathering ideas, and working with others to solve problems. It will be a practical, hands-on learning experience specifically designed to help you hone your craft so that your students walk out of your classroom smarter and better prepared than when they walked in. My goal is that you leave with a toolkit full of practical strategies to significantly improve student learning while greatly reducing the time you spend grading papers. I'm convinced you will leave with strategies to enhance your teaching and increase student learning while saving you time and streamlining your workload!

What you do every day is too important to leave to chance, so I'll make sure you leave with the most effective ideas that I've found – and all ready to use immediately!

P.S. Come ready to learn, share, and engage during this fast-paced learning opportunity full of outstanding social studies teaching strategies and practical timesavers you can use the very next day!
