About this event

Join fellow Jewish independent school professionals for an evening of nourishment, connection, and joy as we gather to explore Jewish identity, memory, and belonging in today’s complex landscape. At a time of heightened antisemitism and the emotional complexities of Jewish communal life, it is more important than ever to gather together—to be seen, to be heard, and to draw strength from one another. This special evening will open with a framing of the current moment from Ira Glasser, Director of K-12 Education, New York – Center for Education Advocacy, American Jewish Committee (AJC) . Ira will reflect on the lived experiences of Jewish professionals in independent schools today, highlighting both challenges and joy, and will introduce the evening’s featured performers: storyteller, musician, and anthropologist Dr. Galeet Dardashti and documentary writer/producer Danielle Dardashti . Inspired by themes from The Nightingale of Iran , an audio documentary created by sisters Danielle and Galeet Dardashti about the story of their famous Persian Jewish family and grandfather, Younes Dardashti, this presentation and interactive workshop invites participants to explore the family…
